MCP131X/2X. MCP1316 for example. 1.6 sec wd timeout and 2.9V or 4.6V voltage supervisor. Also very low current consumption and fairly cheap. /Ruben =========================================== Ruben Jönsson AB Liros Electronic Box 9124 200 39 Malmö Sweden www.liros.se Tel +46 40142078 ============================================

PIC Microcontroller List headers Dwayne Reid 31 Jan 2013 02:18 PIC Looking for external watchdog chip Dwayne Reid 2013-01-31 01:18:24 GMT Good day to all . I'm revisiting an old product line with an eye to creating a couple of new versions of the systems . The current product uses a Xicor X5043 supervisor chip with on-board watchdog timer , power supply supervisor and 512 bytes of eeprom . Because the new PICs contain eeprom , I'm looking for a lower cost solution that contains at least a watchdog timer a power supervisor would be nice but is not essential at this point . I'm currently on the Microchip website and , although I see lots of choices for voltage supervisors , I haven't yet found any parts that contain a watchdog timer . So : I'm looking for suggestions . 1 Is anyone aware of a

Today we will move a step further and discuss about a serial interface SPI for driving 8 seven segment LED displays . The technique uses MAXIM’s MAX7219 LED driver chip that allows you to control 8 or more in cascade configuration common-cathode seven segment LED displays with only 3 I O

  • Build your own stopwatch using Maxim MAX7219 Serially Interfaced, 8-Digit LED Display Drivers

    Updated: 2013-01-29 17:29:32
Ronald Willem Besinga writes: One of the basic usage of the TIMER peripheral on every microcontroller is to provide the accurate timing mechanism. Using the TIMER peripheral as the basic timing, we could easily develop a stopwatch and display it to the 8-Digit seven segment numeric LED display. Thanks to the Maxim MAX7219 chip which [...]

  • Program in C or Assembler?

    Updated: 2013-01-18 15:34:21
A common question we get is should I program my microcontroller in C or assembler? This usually means do I bother with assembler or just use C. Sometimes it just means that I do not know the difference. So what is the difference? Assembly language is low level programming. A microcontroller can carry out a [...]
